So, friends, we can now—without hesitation—walk right up to God, into “the Holy Place.” Jesus has cleared the way by the blood of his sacrifice, acting as our priest before God. The “curtain” into God’s presence is his body.
So let’s do it—full of belief, confident that we’re presentable inside and out. Let’s keep a firm grip on the promises that keep us going. He always keeps his word. Let’s see how inventive we can be in encouraging love and helping out, not avoiding worshiping together as some do but spurring each other on, especially as we see the big Day approaching.
This is from The Message Bible, Hebrews 10:19-25. This is my reason for creating “Promises Today”.
As I am writing this I am going through a difficult season in my life, cancer treatment. Since my diagnosis in February 2010 I have been keeping all my friends and family updated with my progress. A lot of people have commented on how strong I have been and how well I am suffering through this horrid disease and treatment. I am here to tell you my story on how my strength has come, not from my personality, or family, or friends, but from my Heavenly Father.
I want this to become somewhere where people can read my story and then connect with me and other people around the world. I do not want this blog/forum to just be about me and my cancer story, I want it to be about people connecting, encouraging each other and all of us keeping a firm grip on the promises that God has given.
This is just the beginning of a new journey for me, I hope you will come along with me.
God bless,
